The little ones

Leaving your child at nursery for the first time can be difficult for parents so our caring and dedicated baby room staff will help you every step of the way. Each baby has a nominated Key Carer who will build a special relationship with you and your child. They will keep you abreast with your child’s progress on a daily basis through daily diaries and ongoing progress reports.

Your baby will be cared for in a loving and homely environment in our bright and cheerful baby room. Our baby team will work with you to encourage your child to reach each milestone.

The babies are kept busy with activities such as treasure baskets, painting, water, spaghetti play, reading and singing! Learning is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework which is designed to support children’s development from birth to five.

Prior to starting, we carefully obtain details of each baby’s home feeding and sleeping routines. These are documented daily, as well as keeping up to date progress charts on your baby’s development. We liaise with parents during the weaning stages. All essential baby provisions, excluding baby milk, are supplied by us.

Once your baby starts walking and exploring with more confidence, the babies will move to our Little Owls room where they can enjoy high quality toys and equipment designed to promote their learning and development at this crucial and exciting stage. We plan stimulating activities for a fun filled day, which could include painting, singing, reading, messy play, role play or other adventures!

We allow children opportunities throughout the daily routine to develop independence skills. We focus on this mainly during our meal times encouraging children to develop their hand-eye ordination and through various activities during play time.
