Amersham nursery
Ollie Owl Amesham is opposite Tesco and close to the road links in and out of Amersham. We are conveniently located, only a short distance from Amersham mainline and underground station and for the many buses running up and down High Street. We also and have parking both on site and outside.
The nursery is open from 7:30am through to 6:30pm every day from Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays and one week during the Christmas period.
We have 4 bright and airy air conditioned playrooms specially designed for children of different ages.
We also have a large enclosed outside play area— used for traditional physical play such as climbing and cycling as well as growing flowers and vegetables. It also has a safe and stimulating area set aside for babies and an outside “classroom” area with spaces for getting creative and making a mess, as well as quieter areas where children can draw or read.
Secure webcams are installed in each room. Parents can be given appropriate access to these webcams which offer you a delightful insight into your child’s day at the nursery. To keep your child safe we operate a secure entrance policy, with each parent being issued a unique key fob and we also have CCTV security cameras covering the premises.
Our philosophy is to work in partnership with parents and carers as much as possible, we believe that by working together we can help your child achieve to their best potential. We welcome parents involvement in nursery life. Parents can drop in at any time for “stay and play” sessions and we organise fun events which can involve the whole family!
The various Government funding entitlements are available. As a full time nursery open 51 weeks a year the funding entitlements are offered on a stretched basis over 51 weeks. This is what we believe most parents require. The Government unfortunately only provides 15 & 30 hours funded entitlements term time only over 38 weeks a year. So that this can be utilised all year round the free entitlements are reduced on pro-rata basis respectively to 11 & 22 hours per week but these funded hours are made available over the longer period of 51 weeks a year.
We also have limited availability to offer 2 year old funding for eligible children whose parents receive additional Government support.
Items like food and nappies, wipes and creams are regretfully not included in a Government funded day. We firmly believe these items are essential to a full day’s professional Early Years care. We set out in our admissions policy the optional charges we make for these essential items when parents utilise their Government funding entitlement.
A ”Key carer” will be chosen from our team of dedicated and experienced staff who will oversee your child’s learning and development with unique activities which best suit the way your child learns.
Meals are cooked using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with menus created by our qualified chef who is trained in child nutrition.
We are proud to have received a 5 star food hygiene rating in recognition of our high standards.
